Also, if other daters searching using a lot of filters such as by height, weight, activities, race, etc they are going to see a smaller pool of daters and will constantly see your face over and over again.
I know when I'm searching if I see a familiar face even if it's someone I find attractive or am interested in often times I will assume either A. I have already messaged them and didn't hear back, or B. I probably already checked out their profile and either saw some deal breaker about them or something about myself they were not interested in. Though I jump to this assumption this may not always be the case, it may be someone who'd profile I havn't checked out and someone I havn't messeged but oftentimes I may overlook their profile for the above mentioned reasons.
For this reason, it can be an effective strategy to change your profile photo every few weeks or every few months. Even if someone who has already seen your profile in depth or even just in a cursory search will not think they have already looked at your profile and/or messeged you and they may give you a second look.
