A Few Tips & Tricks For You Fishers...Plenty Of Fish That Is

Okay, so were going to be talking about the online dating site Plenty Of Fish.Com, and giving you a few tips & tricks to give you the upper hand over other "fishers".

Besides the obvious things like your profile picture/s, and the content on your page about you, there's a few other ways we can help you get the upper hand over other fishers. Online Dating is lightening fast and filled with people, and you want to get noticed, not lost in the shuffle.

Today we're primarily dealing with the website PlentyOfFish, as opposed to other platforms like Okay Cupid or Match, however other sites may or may not have the same or similar features.

For starters we'll discuss the "Meet Me" feature. It's at the upper right hand corner of the screen on the menu options. Here you'll be presented with a persons profile picture and a simple option...say yes, no, or maybe. Yes and maybe are treated the same way by Plenty Of Fish.

So why should you use the Meet Me feature you ask? There's a few reasons to use it. First, it will send an automated e-mail to the recipient whether they are online or not, saying you want to meet them.

It's also a way to very quickly go through a large number of profiles in a very short period of time and as with most things, online dating is a numbers game. The more opportunities someone has to see you the more likely someone will see you and like you and hopefully message you.

The meet me feature also allows you to express interest in someone quickly without having to fully go into their profile and send them an actual message...like we said it's a numbers game. You can also read that persons profile and send them a message directly if you wish to do so.

If you happen to stumble upon someone you find attractive you can also go directly to their profile and view their whole profile and read about them as well as message someone if this is someone you want to reach out to on a more personal level, as opposed to just clicking yes and saying you'd like to meet.

On a side note...I generally prefer Ok Cupid.Com to PlentyOfFish.Com. In terms of both user base, as well as features. But this is one area where Plenty Of Fish has a slightly better platform.

On OkCupid you have to rate the person, and can then later go back and look at people you rated to message them directly. I like how Plenty Of Fish actually lets you view peoples profile directly, and with one click from the meet me feature; where as OkCupid does not allow you to do this from their "Quick Match" feature.

Back to the subject at hand though...in addition to someone getting an e-mail when you click you would like to meet them, you will also show up on a list of people who clicked yes to them, and if they happen to see your profile on the meet me feature and click they would like to meet you as well, they will also be able to see you on a list for the "will respond" section.

One other trick we'll share with you before signing off. Plenty Of Fish a while back decided to charge a fee for their "premium service". This gives you as a user access to a variety of features such as being able to see when someone viewed your profile as opposed to just being able to see they viewed it however in my opinion the best feature of becoming a premium member is the mobile app which comes in a version for iPhone and another for android phones such as the HTC Evo, Samsungs, and others.

I bought the premium service to try it out for myself as well as to review for you guys...hell it's a tax write off so why not right.

Anyhow, the premium member app has a few extras which are helpful such as viewing a "mobile users" section where you can see how close or how far other users are in comparison to you via GPS. This in my opinion is a VERY cool feature and something similar to the dating website Skout if you have experience using that and like it. If so, you'll probably enjoy this new feature of Plenty Of Fish as well.

One last function which I think we mentioned which I also feel is important is access to the database of "who's viewed me" which has become a paid for premium service if you would actually like to see who viewed you and when as opposed to just a giant mosaic of everyone who has viewed you in the past few months.

Well, we hope these few tricks & tips help you out, and help you get more responses and more dates through Plenty Of Fish. This post mainly focused on Plenty Of Fish but check out the rest of the site/blog if your on another platform such as Match.Com, Eharmony.Com, OkCupid.Com or one of the many others for tips relating to those websites as well.
