No, it's not okay to go through your boyfriends phone or for a boyfriend to go through a girlfriends phone. If you have trust issues work on them, if you have something you want to know ask them. I personally don't ever consider it okay to invade someone's privacy and go through their phone. If you do this the trust isn't there and the relationship is doomed anyways regardless of what you find good or bad.
Some may argue that if you have evidence something is up and your significant other denies and won't talk to you about it maybe you have no other option but I don't even think it's good or okay to invade someone's privacy.
